Team was established on July 17, 1987
In 2016 Team Industries reached its peak with 589 employees. On average Team has:
Team has 3 locations:
Team’s engineering is split in two divisions: one is Engineering-Piping and the other is Engineering-Structural.
Both divisions utilize AutoCAD to create shop detail drawings from client design (usually “issued for construction- IFC” drawings). Both departments have enhanced AutoCAD with in-house programming to support integration with Team’s proprietary fabrication tracking and material control system. The final detail issued from both departments is in “.pdf” format. All personnel are running HP PC’s with triple LCD monitors.
Piping-Engineering also relies upon Intergraph’s SmartPlant Spoolgen 2014 and SmartPlant Isometrics 2014 to create spool drawings. SP Spoolgen accepts “.idf” or “.pcf” files from a 3D piping model. These files are provided by Team’s client and are used in conjunction with the client’s IFC drawings (usually a “.pdf” file). When these files are processed with SP Spoolgen, a material list is created along with an initial AutoCAD drawing. This initial AutoCAD drawing is processed and refined to Team’s requirements with the customized programming mentioned above.
Part of the processing includes checks to confirm compliance with code minimum non-destructive examination requirement and post weld heat treat requirements. The resulting spool drawing is considered a “check print” and follows customary engineering checking and back-checking process. This spool drawing is checked against the client’s IFC drawing to ensure accuracy. The spool drawing issued by Engineering-Piping is the single source shop document and contains all the pertinent information required for the shop to fabricate the spool.
On average Team has 33 CAD draftsmen on staff.
